How to paint 133rd Lambdan Lions (steps & colors rundown)

Hey folks!
In this Rundown I'll share my approach and recipes used to paint Tempestus Scions 133rd Lambdan Lions.

Example of how finished squad looks using the recipes and methods shown below.

Abbreviations for paint manufacturers/ranges:
Vallejo Metal Color - VMT
Vallejo Model Color - VMC
Vallejo Game Color - VGC
Vallejo Model Air - VMA
GW Citadel - GW

Exact colors don't matter too much, just use what you have on hand that is close enough.

1. Black primer.

2. Basecoats.
Gold trim - VMT Gold + GW Rhinox Hide.
Steel elements - VMT Steel.
Black/grey clothing - VMC Black with VMC German Grey drybrush.
Red armor - VMC Burnt Red + GW Mephiston Red.
Brown leather - GW Dryad Bark.
Pale Brown bag - VMC German Pale Brown.
Green lenses & plasma - VGC Heavy Green.
White knee pad - VMC Medium Sea Grey.

3. Wash
Ammo Mig Streaking Grime for Panzer Grey over satin varnish (Vallejo Mecha; let varnish dry fully before applying the enamel).

If you're a fan of "Grimdark style", you can stop here.

4. Wash cleaned up with q-tips.
First pass - slightly dampened with odorless thinner, second pass - dry. For hard-to-reach areas I roll a bit of cotton on a toothpick.
A bit of hindsight: with gloss varnish, thinner is often not necessary.

5. Matte varnish (V. Mecha), recesses touched up with thinned Rhinox Hide afterwards.

 6. Highlights.
Gold - GW Liberator Gold, VMA Aluminium.
Steel - VMA Aluminium.
Black/grey, boots - VMC Dark Sea Green, VGC Wolf Grey; clothing - GW Skavenblight Dinge, + VGC Cold Grey, VGC Cold Grey
Red - GW Evil Sunz Scarlet, VMC German Orange.
Brown - VGC Heavy Siena, VMC German Pale Brown, VGC Khaki.
Pale Brown - VMC German Pale Brown, VGC Khaki, VGC Bonewhite.
White - VMC Medium Sea Grey, VGC Off White.

7. Final details. Satin varnish (V. Premium). Base finished.
Green - VGC Heavy Green, + VMC Lime Green, VMC Lime Green, + VMC Ice Yellow, VMC Ice Yellow.
Snow is GW Valhallan Blizzard.

Finished model.

Hope you will find the scheme rundown useful.

Keep painting and have fun!
